Jakarta,Zonasatu News —Peneliti senior Pusat Penelitian Politik Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI), Siti Zuhro, mengimbau masyarakat berhati-hati terhadap lembaga survei pesanan yang akan memberikan informasi sesat menjelang pemilihan presiden (pilpres) 2019. Masyarakat harus cermat dan tidak menelan begitu saja informasi dari lembaga survei.

“Harus dilihat sumber pendanaan lembaga survei, itu tarikan politik,” kata Siti saat dihubungi Tempo, Senin, 12 Maret 2018. Ia berpesan jangan asal survei tapi tidak tahu pemesannya.

Menurut Siti, salah satu cara untuk mengetahui apakah lembaga survei netral atau sebaliknya dalam memberikan informasi adalah melihat pihak yang mendanainya. Lembaga survei yang memiliki kredibilitas akan mudah diketahui sumber pendanaan surveinya karena lembaga survei akan mendeklarasikan sendiri sumber pemasukannya.

Kepentingan politik membuat suatu hasil survei yang seharusnya menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai akademis, kata Siti, bisa menjadi sesat. Survei yang demikian akan membuat masyarakat awam dijejali informasi yang tidak benar.

Mengutip Tempo, Siti meminta pihak-pihak yang kerap menjadikan lembaga survei alat untuk membohongi masyarakat berhenti melakukannya di pilpres 2019. Hal itu, kata dia, diperlukan untuk menghindari suasana keruh dalam pesta demokrasi lima tahunan itu.

Lembaga survei diminta menjunjung adab demokrasi. “Berkata sejujurnya, transparan, dan bertanggung jawab.”

Ia tidak menyalahkan jika ada partai yang membiayai suatu lembaga untuk melakukan survei politik. Namun ia meminta hasil survei hanya digunakan untuk kepentingan internal partai, bukan disebarluaskan kepada masyarakat. “Tidak semua masyarakat well-informed, banyak yang hanya akan telan-telan (informasi begitu) saja.”
