Baru seminggu lebih Iedul Adha berlalu, kita disibukkan oleh Papua. Pada saat jamaah haji sedang berkemas balik ke tanah air, kerusuhan bernuansa sara justru terjadi di negeri yg sedang sibuk merayakan kemerdekaannya.

Segera perlu diingat bahwa Haji adalah sebuah perayaan atas kesatuan manusia tidak peduli suku, pangkat dan jabatan bahkan bangsanya. Mestinya makin jelas bagi manusia yang berpikir bahwa mempersatukan ratusan keunikan primordial tidak bisa diselesaikan dengan primordialitas atau adat-adat istiadat suku-suku itu. Persatuan itu hanya mungkin dilakukan oleh pencipta manusia dengan semua kemajemukannya. Harus dipertegas bahwa Tuhan tidak saja esa tapi juga pemersatu. Jika ada Tuhan yang memecah belah pastilah Tuhan palsu.

Hiruk pikuk Papua diawali oleh cara pandang keliru dari Jakarta : sekuler kapitalistik yang haus pertumbuhan, abai pemerataan. Akibatnya adalah tanah Papua dilihat sebagai asset  tapi Papuan dilihat sebagai liability. Ini pokok persoalannya. Saling memaafkan yang diminta Presiden harus diartikan sebagai berhenti melakukan kekeliruan itu. Bukan basa-basi lalu kembali ke bisnis seperti biasa.

Ada acara memeratakan pembangunan yang lebih murah daripada memindahkan ibukota. Pertama, membangun sektor maritim dengan lebih sungguh-sungguh. Hadir di laut dengan lebih efektif dengan berbagai jenis dan ukuran armada kapal. Memerintah di laut berbeda sekali dengan memerintah di darat. Saat ini kita belum memiliki pemerintahan di laut yang efektif. Mempersatukan Indonesia dengan menelantarkan kemaritiman adalah omong kosong belaka.

Kedua, mengakhiri 3 zona waktu dan menggantinya dengan satu zona waktu. Sebut saja Waktu Persatuan Indonesia dengan mengacu Waktu Indonesia Tengah. Ini akan mengintegrasikan Indonesia ke pasar ASEAN dan mengurangi kesenjangan waktu produktif Indonesia Bagian Timur (terutama Papua) yang kehilangan 4jam sehari karena zonasi waktu yang keliru ini.
