SURABAYA, Zonasatu News – Pusat Unggulan Iptek Sistem Kontrol Otomotif (PUI-SKO) Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) kembali memberi gebrakan di bidang kendaraan listrik nasional.
Mereka meluncurkan dua mobil listrik terbarunya yang bernama Lowo Ireng Reborn, dan Limosin. Kedua mobil listrik terbaru itu diluncurkan di halaman Gedung Rektorat ITS, Kamis (18/7/2019).
Direktur PUI-SKO ITS, Muhammad Nur Yuniarto menuturkan, sebenarnya mobil Lowo Ireng sendiri sudah pernah diperkenalkan pada 2014 lalu. Namun pada saat itu masih merupakan mobil dengan bahan bakar bensin.
Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi, akhirnya mobil sport Lowo Ireng diubah menjadi sebuah mobil listrik yang ramah dengan lingkungan dan diberi nama Lowo Ireng Reborn.
Ia melanjutkan, makna dari Lowo Ireng diambil dari bahasa Jawa yang berarti kelelawar hitam. Hal ini dikarenakan tim pembuat Lowo Ireng senang bekerja di malam hari, seperti halnya kelelawar. Sedangkan bentuk badan dari mobil tersebut juga mengusung konsep mobil sport yang menyerupai bentuk kelelawar.

“Awalnya mobil Lowo Ireng menggunakan tenaga penggerak engine dari Mitsubishi type 6A13 Twin Turbo dengan power 205 HP, sedangkan ECU (Engine Control Unit) menggunakan produk hasil riset alumni mahasiswa ITS sendiri yang diberi nama Iquteche Technology,” ucapnya.
Ini Kehebatannya
Ketua Peneliti Lowo Ireng Reborn, Heri Suryoatmojo menambahkan, mobil senilai miliaran rupiah tersebut menggunakan teknologi baterai Lithium Ion dengan kapasitas sebesar 20 kilowatt hours (kwh).
Teknologi utama lainnya yang digunakan pada Lowo Ireng Reborn seperti Controller, Battery Management System, dan Interface Vehicle Unit yang semuanya dibuat oleh tim peneliti dan mahasiswa ITS. “Jadi sebagian besar komponen mobil ini merupakan buatan ITS sendiri,” ungkapnya.
Heri melanjutkan, Lowo Ireng Reborn sendiri mampu melaju dengan kecepatan lebih dari 160 kilometer/jam. Sebab torsi pada motor listrik yang digunakan sebesar 200 Newtonmeter (Nm) dengan transmisi Triptonic. Sementara itu, proses pengisian daya dari nol hingga penuh hanya memakan waktu sekitar tiga sampai empat jam dengan daya 7,7 kilowatt (kw).
