Usai Taklukkan MIT di AS, Kepulangan Tim Barunastra ITS Disambut Kemendikbudristek

ZONASATUNEWS.COM, SURABAYA – Usai mengharumkan nama Indonesia di negeri Paman Sam dalam ajang International Roboboat Competition (IRC) 2022, Tim Barunastra Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) akhirnya tiba kembali di tanah air, Rabu (29/6) sore. Berkat prestasi gemilangnya tersebut, kedatangan tim robot kapal kebanggaan ITS ini mendapat apresiasi dengan disambut langsung oleh Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi (Kemendikbudristek) RI melalui Pusat Prestasi Nasional (Puspresnas).

(Plt.) Kepala Puspresnas Asep Sukmayadi hadir langsung memimpin penyambutan tim jawara kapal robot tanpa awak ini di di Bandara Internasional Soekarno-Hatta, Cengkareng, Tangerang. Asep mengungkapkan kebanggaannya terhadap Tim Barunastra ITS ini karena tetap mampu menunjukkan kreativitas dan mengeskalasi prestasinya di situasi pandemi seperti ini. “Tentu hal itu merupakan buah dari jerih payah setiap harinya bermalam di kampus untuk menghasilkan karya seperti ini,” tuturnya salut.

Capaian ini, menurut Asep, sejalan dengan titel Indonesia sebagai salah satu negara maritim terbesar di dunia yang mutlak memerlukan teknologi dan kreativitas bidang perkapalan. Oleh karenanya, Asep menyebutkan bahwa karya tim Barunastra ini adalah sebuah masterpiece di tingkatannya. “Sehingga ke depannya dapat dijadikan sebagai referensi untuk inovasi lebih lanjut serta terus konsisten berkarya di bidangnya,” tandas lelaki berkacamata tersebut.

Tentang kompetensi mahasiswa yang mengalahkan perguruan tinggi ternama dunia seperti Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) – AS ini, menurut Asep, memang berasal dari budaya kreatif dan kompetitif yang diamatinya dari ITS. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan konsistensi ITS menjuarai berbagai kompetisi robotika nasional maupun internasional, salah satunya Kontes Robot Indonesia (KRI) selama tiga sampai empat tahun lamanya. “Untuk mempertahankan ini, janganlah takut bertanya dan mencari tahu serta terus mencoba,” tambahnya memotivasi.

Asep pun berpesan untuk para mahasiswa ITS lainnya agar terus belajar kreatif karena khasanah teknologi dan kesempatan berkarya sangatlah luas. Puspresnas sendiri telah menyiapkan manajemen talenta untuk memberikan kesempatan mahasiswa dalam membuktikan potensinya dan mengaktualisasikan mimpinya. “Tentunya merupakan kerja sama antara banyak pihak untuk dapat memastikan harapan masa depan Indonesia yang lebih baik dengan talenta mahasiswa seperti tim Barunastra ini,” pungkasnya.

Turut menyambut langsung di bandara, Direktur Kemahasiswaan ITS Dr Imam Abadi ST MT yang juga menyampaikan kebanggaannya. Imam menuturkan bahwa apresiasi dan dorongan dari berbagai sisi akan diberikan kepada mereka. Di antaranya adalah akan diberikan konversi akademik untuk tim riset yang sudah berhasil dan berusaha keras, Satuan Kegiatan Ekstrakurikuler Mahasiswa (SKEM), serta materiil berupa fresh money karena ITS sendiri telah memiliki payung hukum yang menaunginya. “Ke depannya diberikan keleluasaan pengembangan riset serta pendanaan yang lebih bila memungkinkan,” tutupnya.

Setelah mendapat sambutan di bandara, besok Kamis (30/6), Tim Barunastra ITS ini rencananya juga dijadwalkan berkunjung ke kantor Kemendikbudristek untuk memenuhi undangan bertemu dengan Mendikbudristek Nadiem Anwar Makarim. Selanjutnya tim juga akan dijamu oleh Ikatan Keluarga Alumni (IKA) ITS di Jakarta. (Sumber: HUMAS ITS)
